Love Is Toxic…(Poem)

We live in a time where love is labelled toxic while lust is celebrated as liberation, and that contradiction should trouble us. Love asks for discipline, sacrifice, and commitment — qualities that build stability — yet it is side-lined and neglected, waiting on the bench of modern culture. Lust, on the other hand, is praised, marketed, and justified because it fuels appetite, consumption, and a bullish economy. But when desire is elevated above wisdom, history shows the cost is decline. Letting lust reign unchecked is not progress; it is cultural suicide, a path that may glitter on the surface but ultimately leaves society hollow and deprived.

Love may sit quietly on the sidelines, but its absence is felt in every hollow victory lust claims. To restore balance, we must remember that true strength lies not in indulgence, but in restraint, not in fleeting desire, but in enduring connection. When we value love again, we reclaim not just our hearts, but the soul of our society.
